Why this page is deliberately incomplete

We will not invent a coach.

A FIDE profile link is the single highest-value trust signal an academy can publish, and it costs nothing. Until the real names, IDs, ratings and profile URLs are supplied, these cards stay visibly empty. A page of plausible-sounding coaches would convert better this week and cost more than it earned.

What each coach page will contain

The template, ready for real data

When the details arrive, each coach gets their own page at /coaches/[name]/ built to this structure, with Person schema linking to their FIDE profile.

  • 01 BackgroundWhere they learned, who taught them, and how long they have been coaching rather than playing.
  • 02 Playing recordCurrent FIDE rating and ID, peak rating, and the events behind them — with the profile link beside it.
  • 03 Who they coachAge groups and levels. Being excellent with seven-year-olds and being excellent with tournament teenagers are different jobs.
  • 04 Teaching style, in their own wordsTwo or three sentences written by the coach, not by a marketer.
  • 05 A position they like to teachOne diagram and why it matters to them. It tells you more about a coach than a rating does.
  • 06 Person schema with sameAsThe FIDE profile URL emitted as structured data, so the credential is machine-readable as well as visible.
How to check a chess coach, anywhere

Four questions worth asking us, and everyone else

  • 01What is their FIDE ID?A number you can search on ratings.fide.com. “Experienced coach” is not a credential.
  • 02How long have they been teaching?Playing strength and teaching skill are only loosely related, particularly with young beginners.
  • 03Will my child have the same coach each week?A rotating pool cannot tell a careless move from a gap in knowledge.
  • 04Can I watch them teach before enrolling?Any answer other than yes is worth thinking about.
