You can walk in, sit at the back, and watch a class before you decide anything.
Typical off-peak driving times to 15th Cross, Sector 6. Traffic on Sarjapur Road and the Agara junction will add to these in the evening — the later batches are timed with that in mind.
| Area | Drive time | Route note |
|---|---|---|
| HSR Layout — all sectors | 5–10 min | Sectors 1, 2, 3 and 7 come via 27th Main |

A “seats left” column belongs here and is powerful — but only if it is true every day. We have left it out until it can be kept accurate. Fake urgency is the fastest way to lose a careful parent.

Every coach’s FIDE ID and public profile link is on the coaches page. Check them before the demo, not after.
Four columns — chess development, thinking, learning behaviour, competition readiness. Not a rating number and a thumbs-up.
Walk in during a class, sit at the back for fifteen minutes, and watch how we talk to a child who has just lost. That single observation will tell you more about an academy than any brochure, ours included.
If you would rather have something in your hand first, the free chess report card takes eight minutes on a phone and tells you where your child actually stands.

Yes. A demo class is free, and there is no payment step and no obligation attached to it. You are also welcome to skip the booking entirely and simply walk in during class hours to watch a session from the back of the room.
Offline batches in HSR Layout run from ₹3,000 per month for the 4–6 track up to ₹4,500 per month for 14–18, at two sessions a week in a batch of six. Every number is on the fees page, including what we do not charge for.
[CONFIRM: sibling discount — yes/no, and the amount]
Yes, if they can sit for about twenty minutes. The First Moves track is built for exactly that age, and the session is shorter and more physical than the older batches. If your child is on the edge of ready, come to a demo class and we will tell you honestly whether to start now or in six months.
Yes — the same coaches and the same curriculum, live, in batches of six. Families who move out of the area often continue online without changing coach. See online chess classes.
64Moves runs its in-person chess classes from a first-floor space on 15th Cross in Sector 6, HSR Layout. It is a teaching room rather than a hall: wooden Staunton sets, tournament boards, analog clocks, and six chairs to a batch. Classes run through the week for children from four to eighteen and for adults, from complete beginners through to players preparing for rated tournaments.
Children are grouped by age rather than by convenience, because a six-year-old and a twelve-year-old do not learn chess the same way. The younger batches spend more time on board vision, piece patterns and simply staying at the table for twenty minutes. The older batches work with clocks, scoresheets and their own analysed games. Families from Agara, Somasundarapalya and the inner HSR sectors are usually five to ten minutes away; Koramangala and BTM Layout are ten to twelve; Bellandur and Sarjapur Road around fifteen.
If you are comparing chess classes near you, the most useful thing you can do is watch one. Every academy will tell you the batches are small. Sitting at the back for a quarter of an hour tells you how many children are actually in the room, whether the coach is teaching or supervising, and what happens when a child loses.
Adults come to us in two groups: people who never learned properly as children and want to start from the beginning without feeling foolish, and people who play online, hover somewhere between 800 and 1400, and cannot work out why they are stuck. The second group is usually stuck for a reason that is easy to name and hard to notice — moving before checking what changed, or having no endgame technique at all. Adult batches are also capped at six.
15th Cross runs between the 14th Main and 27th Main stretch of Sector 6. Coming from Agara junction, turn into HSR at the lake and continue down 14th Main. Coming from Silk Board or BTM, come via 16th Main. From Koramangala, either Sarjapur Road or 80 Feet Road works, and both take about ten minutes outside peak hours. The nearest metro is on the Green Line at Silk Board, which is a short auto ride away; several bus routes to HSR BDA Complex stop within walking distance.
